OPI Ink Nail Polish
Hi everyone,
I ordered some products during the GOSF but they arrived so late that it almost went out of my mind that I had ordered something…better late than never. I had ordered some skincare products and two nail polish shades from OPI but they shipped only one as the other one was out of stock. As you might have guessed, today my review would be for a nail polish from OPI and the shade is OPI Ink.
Product details from the Wikipedia:
OPI Products is a nail lacquer manufacturer located in North Hollywood, California. OPI, originally named Odontorium Products Inc., was a small dental supply company purchased by George Schaeffer in 1981. Shortly after taking over the company, Schaeffer was joined by Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s Executive Vice President and Artistic Director. Schaeffer and Weiss-Fischmann partnered with R. Eric Montgomery, a biochemist, and created an acrylic system that Schaeffer sold door-to-door to local nail salons. They closed the dental sales and focused entirely on nail products changing the name to OPI Products Inc.
Price: INR 670 for 15ml
My Experience with OPI Ink Nail Polish:
I wanted to have this color ever since I saw it online but due to some reasons or the other I never ordered it. This shade was launched in the OPI Night Bright’s Collection in 2007 along with a couple of more shades. There was another shade that I had ordered from this collection but since it was out of stock I had to modify my order.
The bottle is signature OPI with pro wide brush and the shade name written at the bottom. I have a certain weakness for dark shades of nail polish, not that I do not own any neutral or pink shades but the preference is always high for dark shades. This was an online purchase and I did not have the privilege to see the shade in person I was depending on the online swatches for reference and I am glad I got this.
OPI Ink is a classic shade from OPI which looks somewhere between dark royal purple to royal blue at times with flecks of fuchsia shimmer along with purple as well as blue shimmer…I do intend to describe the shade as accurately as possible but the alter-ego nature of this polish confuses me. When I see this in bright sunlight it looks purpler but as I step inside it leans towards navy blue at times. The application was not very smooth as I had expected, maybe because of the shimmer particles and there was a visible drag and brush marks on the first coat.
OMG when I applied the first coat my heart broke…it looked so crappy I thought my money had gone down the drain as it was so streaky and patchy. The second coat application made it look better and a third helping was the icing on the cake…I couldn’t stop staring at my nails when it was all done.
The way this polish reflects light and all the different shades of shimmer and base colour playing in light any girl would fall in love with this shade. The process of removal could take a little more time as it has shimmer in it and please don’t forget to use a base coat or it may stain your nails. If you love blue, purple or dark nails then this is for you. Go grab it!!!
*Since 2006, OPI has reformulated its entire line of Nail Lacquers, Nail Treatments, and Nail Hardeners to eliminate DBP (dibutyl phthalate) and Toluene. Formaldehyde has never been an ingredient in OPI Nail Lacquers or Nail Treatments.

Would I buy this or recommend?
Yes, I would buy as many shades from OPI as I can, this one would take a lot of time to get over it’s a huge 15ml bottle. All polish lovers must give it a shot, you won’t regret spending your hard earned money.
Thnx.
I hope u enjoyed it.
