NYX Brush On Gloss in Copper Penny
Hello beautiful ladies,
Its sale season everywhere and like many other girls I am going crazy for shopping. I am having no control over myself, whenever I try to control, some brand or some online site comes up with an irresistible offer due to which I end up buying stuff, today I will review a product which I brought few days back. I am a huge NYX fan since the day I first heard about it and as many of you must be knowing, an online site gave flat 50% off on NYX for 3-4 days. I could not resist myself and brought everything I always wanted to try.

Packaging: It comes in a square shaped transparent tube with a long cap. The cap is almost twice the size of the tube and the applicator is attached to the cap itself. It’s a black colored trapezium shaped cap. The tube or rather the whole packaging is somewhat larger than what I expected.

My take on NYX Brush On Gloss in Copper Penny:
Few months back I read a review about one of these glosses on IMBB and the girl didn’t like the one she had. She almost hated it and this made me think about buying this product, but when I saw it on sale, that too 50% I thought that even I should give it a shot and finally after using it, I think that the one she had (the color or may be the product), was not good enough as I liked these glosses.
Color: The shade is called copper penny but it does not seem to be a shade of copper, it is actually a pinky maroon color with a satiny finish. It does have very minute shimmer particles which are not very prominent and shows up only in strong light. It is a beautiful color that can be used alone during day time or can also be used on top of a lipstick to make it more shiny and beautiful.
Texture: The gloss is very soft to apply. Consistency wise it is neither too thick nor too liquidy. It is a little sticky but not till the extent to make me uncomfortable. It does not feel very heavy on lips.
Pigmentation: Copper Penny is nicely pigmented, it is so pigmented that can be used alone to give a nice pinky shiny color to the lips. 2 coats are enough to give the color that is visible through the tube, but more than 2 swipes make it look streaky and uneven.
Staying Power: I found the staying power of the gloss average; it stays for 2-3 hours, if no meals are included. In case of little snacks the staying power reduces to half. It does not leave any stain/color on the lips and so it is completely gone after a single full meal. But as it is a gloss, I didn’t expect it to stay longer and so I am not disappointed.
Applicator: Now coming to the applicator, majority of glosses have a doe foot applicator, but in this case as the name of the gloss suggests, the applicator is a brush. Using a brush as an applicator is not bad and is not too uncomfortable, but I faced a problem while using it. Doe foot applicators are easy to use as I can pick up the desired quantity of product, but in this case, it became really difficult for me to remove the extra product from the brush, as a result of which managing so much product on my lips became really difficult.
Fragrance: I don’t really think that I should have called it fragrance, but it was not that bad to call it smell. This product has a very artificial smell which reminds me of cough syrups. These days majority of the glosses seems to be having the same kind of artificial smell and this one is an addition to the list. Although, it vanishes after 15-20 minutes, but it sometimes become difficult to tolerate that kind of smell even for 15 minutes.
Pros of NYX Brush On Gloss in Copper Penny:
• Affordable
• Larger than what I expected
• Nice color range
• Very minute shimmer particles that make it look beautiful without looking obvious.
• Decent staying power
• Feels light on lips and make them feel moisturized

Cons of NYX Brush On Gloss in Copper Penny:

Would I buy this product again?
Not this color of course, but I might not even go for some other color, until I get a great deal, like I got while buying this.
Do I recommend this?
It is an average product which is good for starters, but if you are a gloss lover, you can skip this and instead try other glosses from NYX.
