The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter Review
Hi Beautifull Ladies,
Today’s post is dedicated to IMBB as it introduced me to Body Shop products. I had heard about the brand, but never tried anything because of the price factor. When I read TBS reviews on IMBB, I realized that at least for some products, one can spend a little extra because of the quality TBS ensures. I have used Body Shop’s Strawberry Lip Balm and Chocomania Lip Butter earlier. This time, I bought Chocomania lip butter trio. The Chocomania trio contains lip butters in a dark chocolate heart-shaped tin which contains the Chocomania lip butter, Shea lip butter and Coconut lip butter, each having 10 ml quantity
With Valentine’s Day coming soon, I thought it would be good to write a post about a product that can be added to the V–Day wishlist So today, I am reviewing The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter.
When I first saw this, I swear I wanted it just because of the cute little heart. It is also a nice gifting option. I had bought two Body Shop Born Lippy Lip trio earlier in 2013 which had three Born Lippy lip balms – Strawberry, Raspberry and Passion Berry. I have included the picture of Born Lippy Trio in this post. This time, I found this lip butter trio and couldn’t resist myself. Yes, crazy me.
Product Description:
This buttery lip moisturizer melts onto the lips for instant hydration. It contains organic virgin coconut oil that provides instant hydration, buttery texture, leaves lips feeling soft and smooth.
Price:
Rs. 700 approximately for the trio (don’t remember the exact price, got it at discount). I guess its Rs. 350 for a single lip butter.
Ingredients:
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Flavor, Beeswax, Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Lanolin, PEG-8 Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopherol, Cinnamal, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5 Lake.
My Experience with The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter:
The Body Shop Coconut lip butter comes in a simple brown tub packaging. The ingredients are mentioned on the back on flip open sticker. It is travel friendly and easy to use. The tub is of good quality and there is no problem in opening or closing the cap. What I don’t like is that every time, I have to dip my fingers to take take out the butter.
The Body Shop Coconut lip butter is white cream in colour. It has a mild fragrance of coconut and shea butter, not too strong for sensitive noses. The texture is soft, buttery, the name lip butter suits this product very well. It doesn’t become hard and you do not need much effort to get it out for application. I had this bad experience with other lip care brands.
Once on the lips, it gets quickly absorbed and doesn’t feel heavy at all. You can see the difference from the swatch how it gives a nice sheen to the skin. It can be used as a base for lipsticks.
It is suitable for normal to dry lips. It makes the lips so supple, super soft and smooth. I re-apply it every 1 or 2 hours.
Pros of The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter:
- Creamy texture.
- Softens lips.
- Non sticky.
- Available in India.
- Smells good.
- Paraben free.
- Not tested on animals.
- Community trade product.
Cons of The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter:
- Tub packaging, so obvious hygiene issues.
- Average staying power.
- No SPF protection.
- A bit pricey without the combo deal, but I don’t mind buying this instead of 3-4 average lip butters.
Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter?
Yes, in spite of some cons, I have become a fan of The Body Shop lip butters.
Hope you all like this review.
Thnx.
