My Experience with Essence Lash and Brow Gel Mascara Review:

Brows frame the entire face, and many times they are neglected. I am very fond of bold brows, although I have medium thick brows I like filling them, but many times in rush it is not always possible to do so. And this is such a product that keeps them in place. It is very difficult to find clear gel or mascara for brows in India. Before this I have tried the Maybelline clear mascara which worked great for setting brows , but once it got over I did not get a chance once again to lay my hands on that one as it is not available in India. And after that I tried Avon’s clear mascara and it was pathetic, so I had lost hope if I could find a good drugstore option in India. But then I came across this one and had high expectations.

It comes in a small and sleek transparent packaging with everything written on it in blue, transparent tube makes it easy to look if the product is going to finish, it looks very cute like most of essence’s products. The tube itself is very handy and can be easily carried around. The wand inside is blue with white spoolie brush it is very small and just the perfect size for brows.

It says it can be used both on brows as well as eye lashes, and I tried it both ways, it works merely okay as clear mascara. When used as clear mascara it does not give any length, volume or color to lashes just kind of separated them. If you already have very thick and long lashes and do not need much definition but want to make it look very natural, then you can use it that way, nut I only use it for setting my brows. It can be a life saver if have very thick unruly brows. The clear gel inside is of medium thin consistency, and application is very easy.

The gel inside is crystal clear; it does not feel sticky at all and is very light. The application wand picks up just the right product each time. If you end up applying more than required then it can take a few minutes to dry, so make sure to apply just a coat on brows. It keeps brows in place for the whole day; it does not flake or anything, but makes brows look very neat and clean. I use it almost every day, sometimes just alone and sometimes after filling brows. I also noticed one thing, if you are filling brows with a powder and then using it, then some of the residue can be transferred in the gel. And it takes away the powdery look of brows after filled with an eye shadow or a brow powder and makes then look very natural.

• Works okay as an mascara, just separates lashes nothing else

• If over applied can take time to dry
• If used over a brow powder, some residue transfers to the tube

Do I recommend Essence Lash and Brow Gel Mascara?

It is a very simple yet basic product, but it is also hard to find such products in India. If you have very thick unruly brows then this can be a life saver.
