My Experience with Bharat and Dorris Eyeshadow – Jasmine:
This is another eyeshadow I had picked up from Bharat and Dorris, I am glad I tried these as they are great. The shade “Jasmine” is a plumy brown shade. It is dark brown but definitely looks slightly plum. It is quite similar to MAC Sketch Eyeshadow, although there is difference in the finish. I was slightly disappointed in the beginning as it did not turn out the way I thought. At the store, it was looking more of a dark brown color, but in natural lighting, it comes out more as a plum eyeshadow.
Anyway, it’s a very versatile shade in itself. It’s a dark color and therefore perfect for crease and for smokey look. It works great for defining eyes as well, without looking harsh when used with a small angled brush. It is completely matte and therefore good for office wear as well, when you just want to define the crease. It gives a good change from the regular brown eyeshadow. The texture is very smooth and there is hardly any fallout. It is not overly soft, just the right texture. It is not at all chalky. The quality of Bharat and Dorris eyeshadows is truly amazing, and a good alternative if you do not want to spend on high-end brands, but still do not want to compromise on quality. It blends with ease, in spite of being a dark color and does not look patchy after layering for an intense look.
It is extremely pigmented, and a single swipe gives good color payoff. This can be easily used without a primer when in hurry, but using a primer underneath does intensify the color and also makes it last longer.
On my oily eyelids, it stays for 5 hours after which it starts to crease. The staying power is really impressive as not many eyeshadows stay on me for long without a primer. Using a primer, makes it last for 7 hours easily after which there is creasing and I need touch ups. If you have normal to dry eyelids, then you can expect it to last longer. In the swatches, I have swiped it alone on the left and on the right over a primer. In the EOTD, I have smudged it over a black liner and along with a lighter brown eye shadow in the crease, and used it below the lower lashes to define eyes
