Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation Review
Mr. Husband keeps teasing me that I will age much faster than he will, because he does weight training religiously and I don’t *smack*. Without being insecure, I thought to add anti-aging products in my routine and the first brand that clicks in the category instantly is Olay. When I told him that I wanted to go and pick up a foundation, he said: “Why foundation!!! You are flawless.” Hehe, I am no way but maybe he is watching the teasers of an upcoming movie very closely *rofl* Covergirl products are not available here, this being the only one I spotted and purchased after reading a few review
Price: $15 for 12 gm.
Ingredients:
Packaging:
Packaging is adorable; this cream foundation comes in a purple plastic casing with transparent glass twist cover, which holds the foundation with white swirls of Olay Regenerist Serum. I just wish it had a mirror inside. It is available in 15 shades, I got shade 220- creamy natural which matches my NC 25 skin. After twisting open the cover, lift the plastic lid to reveal the dual-end sponge, enclosed inside a separate chamber.
My Take on Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation:
I love the product. I have been using it since a month and wanted to hold the review till I try it in summers because I have a combination skin with oil factory in my t-zone But lately, a few Covergirl reviews appeared on the blog and I couldn’t resist jumping on in the bandwagon.
Let’s start with application. In winter season, skin is already dry, so moisturization is necessary. Since the foundation blends easily, summers may not require a moisture film underneath. The coverage is sheer and just like a tinted moisturizer. Once blended, the foundation absorbs and adjusts into the skin giving a semi-matte finish, truly natural look and adds freshness and glow to the face. The coverage is buildable to medium with application of 2-3 coats; and even layering doesn’t make it look cakey at all. I still look very natural, no mask effect on the face when I try to get medium coverage out of this.
I have worn it for a maximum of 8 hours and I observed that it doesn’t oxidize, doesn’t sink into the pores and had never broken me out. It doesn’t enhance fine lines or large pores on my face and doesn’t turn grey. It provides a very good base for makeup. To cover scars and blemishes, you will need a concealer, but unexpectedly, this does some good to undereye dark circles. Also, it evens out my skin tone beautifully. Due to winter maybe, my T-zone stays shine free for the entire time I wear it. However in summers, there is a possibility of some oil on my T-zone because every single cream and foundation does it; the pressed powder will take care of it.
It is very lightweight and non-greasy on skin. In images, the swatch is freshly blended; it takes about 4-5 minutes for the foundation to get settled into the skin. It contains SPF 22, an added benefit making it very appropriate for regular use. The sponge is not useless; the foundation blends wonderfully with the sponge and fingers equally.
Overall, this is a great product for those using foundation for everyday or for people who stay away from heavy foundations. I think both dry and combination skin type will cherish this product.
The best part is that it imparts a natural look with glow to my face; no one can tell I am wearing a foundation, but still my face stays super fresh all the day long.
