Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara – Ultra Black Review

I am clueless how and why I missed reviewing this purchase of mine from Sephora. Of the few stuff that I picked up, this one was the only pre-planned product. My sister had used this mascara a few months back when she picked it up from Dubai. She is one person who will never skip wearing mascara. It might be a no lipstick, no kajal day for her, but mascara is a MUST! So, she keeps on trying new stuff and she was all praises about this. No wonder this was highly priced, but indulging once in a while is just fine.
Packaging:
The mascara comes in a jet black plastic bottle, but the finish is shiny which attracts finger prints. The bottle is thicker at the bottom and has Sephora written with silver as a band around the bottle neck. The wand is very sturdy and the bristles are so arranged that they help to separate and define the lashes. The bristles are made of some fibre and the tip of the wand can be bent to fit the lashes.

My Experience with Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara – Ultra Black:
I was really apprehensive before indulging in this mascara as it has to be chucked out in 3 months as per the beauty rules and 6 months as per the tube details. But I really liked how my sister flaunted her lovely lashes with this on. I had to give in and bought this mascara. Though the price is very high for a mascara, but the results really justified the price. Nowhere it is mentioned on the packaging that it is waterproof but a normal splash of water can be taken care of, but on rubbing, the mascara does come off and is not stubborn like the waterproof ones.
The bristles define the lashes very well and coat them evenly. As the bristles are small, the lower lashes can be defined very easily. There are a few mascaras where the stubby bristles tend to touch the area below the lower lashes and mess up the whole makeup. I have never faced such a problem with this mascara, but I must mention that this is more of a defining mascara than one that clumps up to show more volume. It does lengthen a bit, but nothing too drastic. Also, it does not curl the lashes. I have to use a lash curler to give any curling effect to my lashes. This is now my everyday mascara which gives the most natural-looking lashes and believable volume.

- Can be used for 6 months (cheat on the 3 months theory).
